We don't usually post about the shoddy work of computer shops etc but this one is absolutely ridiculous!
Customer takes a beautiful Lenovo Ultra 9 RTX5090 24GB GPU £4k+ Gaming Laptop along with some high end liquid metal thermal paste somewhere in the midlands asking them to clean & fit the paste.
They came to us via a local recommendation saying the fan was noisy after the install and the laptop is very laggy and running off the Intel Graphics after this service - no mention of the beefy RTX5090 graphics card in the device manager whatsoever - cost of replacement motherboard circa £2599.99 in parts if the worse happens.

Upon taking this monster apart - we find shop incompetence in every level from the abundance of the *conductive!* liquid paste - all around those lovely capacitors of the GPU chip along with a river of liquid thermal paste trying to run away from the CPU...

Full cleanup undoing that shoddy work and cleaning both chips along with actually removing the fans from the heatsink to properly clean up the blocked fans & repasting as per the MX7 instructions for optimal cooling, this customer got very very lucky - the beefy RTX5090 reappeared in device manager and gaming was a breeze again - oh and the noisy fan was fixed.

Please please check out the reviews of the places you're sending your devices to!
