The honest answer
16” or 14” ?
Pick the 16-inch if it mostly lives on a desk — the biggest MacBook screen, the 100Wh battery, and it runs cooler and quieter under sustained load.
Pick the 14-inch if it travels with you — the same chips and ports at 1.6kg.
Performance per generation is effectively identical between sizes — it's a size and weight decision, not a power one.

Common Questions
Which 16” generation should I buy?
The M1 Pro (2021) is the value pick and still a serious 4K machine. Step newer for Wi-Fi 6E and ray tracing (M2/M3), or to the M4 Pro (2024) for Thunderbolt 5 and the 24-hour battery. Choose a Max chip when you grade, render or run large local AI models.
Should I buy the Intel 2019 or an Apple-silicon 16”?
Apple silicon, unless you specifically need Windows: the Intel i9 (2019) is the last Mac that dual-boots Windows natively via Boot Camp — that's its superpower. For everything else the M-series runs cooler, quieter and several times longer on battery.
Pro vs Max — what's the difference?
The Pro chips are the sweet spot for most pro work. The Max chips roughly double the graphics and memory bandwidth, take up to 96–128GB, and drive four external displays instead of two — worth it for heavy 3D, colour grading and local AI.
What's special about the 16” battery?
Every Apple-silicon 16” carries a 100Wh battery — the largest allowed on a plane — rated at up to 21–24 hours of video depending on generation, with 140W MagSafe fast charge. Every TA1 Mac is guaranteed at 85%+ battery health with under 400 cycles.
What's the difference between Fair, Good and Excellent?
Purely cosmetic — every Mac is fully tested and works perfectly regardless of grade. Fair has noticeable scratches or light dents (our best value), Good shows light signs of use, and Excellent looks like new. See our grading guide with photos.
