16.2” Liquid Retina XDR · Apple M1 Max · 32–64GB unified memory · up to 21h video · four external displays

This is the Mac I use daily. Super fast, stunning display, long battery life, and it stays cool even under heavy workload. The only downside? It's so well built it weighs over 2kg. A+++

Common Questions

Is the 16” M1 Max still worth buying in 2026?

For heavy creative and AI work, it's arguably the best value pro laptop money can buy. The Liquid Retina XDR display is even brighter and clearer than the classic Retina panels, and these were £3,000–£4,500+ machines new — mostly configure-to-order builds with 32–64GB of memory and upgraded GPUs. Whether it's programming in VS Code, movie production in Final Cut Pro or music production in Logic, it still outperforms most brand-new laptops at this price — and runs the latest macOS 26 Tahoe.

What does configure-to-order (CTO) mean?

Apple builds CTO machines to a customer's custom spec — more memory, bigger GPU, larger SSD than any shelf model. You can't walk into a shop and buy these configurations; buying refurbished is the only way to get them at this price.

Should I choose 32GB or 64GB?

32GB comfortably handles 8K video, huge Lightroom catalogues and most local AI models. Choose 64GB for very large local LLMs (70B-class), heavy 3D scenes, or keeping several of those workloads open at once.

What's the difference between Fair, Good and Excellent?

Purely cosmetic — every Mac is fully tested and works perfectly regardless of grade. Fair has noticeable scratches or light dents (our best value), Good shows light signs of use, and Excellent looks like new. See our grading guide with photos.

What ports does it have, and how many monitors can it drive?

Three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C), full-size HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack. The M1 Max drives up to four external displays (three 6K + one 4K) — a proper desktop replacement.

What's included, and what about warranty and delivery?

Every Mac comes with a fully compatible charger, a 12-month RTB hardware warranty, 14-day returns, an 85%+ battery-health guarantee (under 400 charge cycles) and free insured next-day UK delivery on weekdays.
