Apple released macOS 27 Golden Gate on Monday 14 September 2026, and we have good news to go with it: every Apple silicon Mac on ta1macstore.co.uk is officially supported. If it has an M1 chip or newer, it runs Golden Gate.
Golden Gate is the first macOS built for Apple silicon only, so the chip matters more than the age. A refurbished M1 MacBook Air from 2020 gets the same new macOS as a brand-new one.
Shop by operating system
Our site is already up to date. Every collection page now has an Operating System filter in the sidebar (tap Filter and sort on mobile). Tick Latest macOS Golden Gate and you will only see Macs that run the new release, or pick macOS Tahoe or Sequoia if that is what you are after.
Or jump straight in: All Golden Gate-ready Macs · MacBook Air for everyday use, students and travel · MacBook Pro for serious work.
What you get with Golden Gate
The headline is the new Siri, now with its own app and a much more conversational way of working. Visual Intelligence comes to the Mac, so you can select anything on screen and ask about it. Safari gains automatic tab groups and price-drop alerts, and Shortcuts can be built by describing them in plain English. Full details and the compatible model list are on Apple's support page.
What about Intel Macs?
Golden Gate does not run on Intel Macs. Our Intel MacBook Pros and iMacs stay on macOS Tahoe (or Sequoia for the two-port 13-inch 2020), and Apple has said Intel Macs will keep getting security updates for three years. They remain brilliant value for browsing, office work and anyone who needs Windows via Boot Camp, and every listing states its macOS so there are no surprises. Find them under Intel Macs in the menu.
Ready to go out of the box
Every Mac we sell gets a final pre-ship test and the latest macOS it supports before packing, so a Golden Gate-ready Mac arrives running Golden Gate. With 14-day returns and our 365-day hardware warranty, there has never been a better time to pick up a Mac that is supported for years to come.
