Two more Efficiency Cores have been added so while the M3 8-Core Chip has 4 Performance & 4 Efficiency Cores, these M4s have 4 Performance & 6 Efficiency Cores and can now support 2 Displays with the Lid Open as opposed 1 (Lid open) / 2 (Lid closed) on the M3 and the M4s are now Thunderbolt 4 ports rather than the previous Thunderbolt 3/USB4.
